Breast Reduction
Also known as reduction mammoplasty, breast reduction is performed to remove excess fat and tissue from the breast. Following surgery, most women find their symptoms of neck and back pain and shoulder grooving have been alleviated. Many have an enhanced body image following surgery and go on to enjoy a more active lifestyle.
The male counterpart to reduction mammoplasty is gynecomastia. Gynecomastia surgery utilizes the same principal as breast reduction. Excess fat and tissue are removed from the breast leaving a more flattened, masculine chest.
